ResumoThe use of solid lubricant for low value of coefficient of friction began in the 90s with films of MoS2 and Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC). The DLC films suffered corrosion by existing atomic oxygen at altitudes of satellite orbits between 100 and 300 km. The application of silver nanoparticles dispersed throughout the volume of the film gives it, neutralization of atomic oxygen through the formation of silver oxide which the corrosion reduces. in the environment the DLC film with the presence of silver provides anti-bactericidal characteristics in the areas treated. This work is studying the nucleation and growth of silver nanoparticles through a Magnetron Sputtering system, using argon gas on silicon and then on titanium alloy Ti6Al4V. After this study will be made on the deposition of DLC films, in order to analyze and compare the properties tribology (friction coefficient and wear) between the DLC films with and without silver nanoparticles. The films of DLC are deposited through the process of CVD using a gas mixture of methane and argon. The formation and distribution of silver nanoparticles on the film of DLC are being studied in relation to the nucleation, growth and coalescence of grains.
